Crispin Glover, the actor known for his role in “Back to the Future,” is facing a civil lawsuit from a United Kingdom–based model who alleges he manipulated her into relocating to Los Angeles with promises of employment and support, only to assault her and force her out of his home, reports customreceipt.com via TMZ.
According to court documents filed this week in the Superior Court of California, the plaintiff, identified only as Jane Doe, asserts that she met Glover through social media in 2015 and maintained contact for years as he allegedly encouraged her to pursue opportunities in Hollywood. She claims that in early 2024 he promised her a place to live in his Silver Lake residence and a job as his assistant, persuading her to sell her belongings and move from the U.K.
Once in Los Angeles, the complaint alleges that Glover began exerting control over her daily life, monitoring her movements and insisting she serve as a live‑in partner and unpaid worker. The suit contends that when the woman attempted to leave to visit a mosque in March 2024, she returned to find the residence locked and was told to seek alternative housing, leaving her homeless with her belongings and pets still inside the home.

Doe’s filing further alleges that when she tried to re‑enter the residence to collect her possessions, Glover attacked her, seizing her neck and placing her in a headlock, causing a visible wound and leaving a scar. The complaint also accuses Glover of filing what she describes as a false police report and a malicious restraining order that she says damaged her reputation and career.
In addition to battery and assault, the lawsuit lists claims of fraud, wrongful eviction, intentional infliction of emotional distress, malicious prosecution, and alleged violations of California’s Tom Bane Civil Rights Act. Jane Doe is requesting a jury trial and various damages, including legal costs.
Glover’s legal representatives have issued a statement denying all allegations, describing them as “baseless” and asserting that on March 2, 2024, Glover was himself the victim of an unprovoked felony assault at his Los Angeles residence, leading to an LAPD investigation and Jane Doe’s arrest, and that documentation and a restraining order filed at that time support his version of events.
