Former Atlanta Falcons quarterback Matt Ryan, recently appointed president of football operations, is expected to target Seattle Seahawks offensive coordinator Klint Kubiak as a candidate for the Falcons’ next head coach, according to league discussions, reports customreceipt.com via superjouer.fr.

Each season, Super Bowl contenders and conference leaders face staff departures alongside player movement, creating a steady demand for coordinators who can translate schematic success into broader organizational leadership. Seattle’s recent offensive resurgence has placed its coaching staff firmly in that spotlight.
Interest in Seahawks coordinators has grown amid the team’s strong 2025 campaign, and Kubiak has emerged as one of the most closely watched assistants in the league. Ryan, now overseeing football operations in Atlanta, is widely believed to be evaluating Kubiak as a potential solution for the Falcons’ long-term coaching direction.
Kubiak’s impact in Seattle has been reflected clearly in the numbers. After the Seahawks finished the 2024 season ranked 18th in scoring and 14th in total yardage, the offense made a significant leap in 2025. Under Kubiak’s direction, Seattle concluded the season third in points per game and eighth in total offensive yards, marking its most productive stretch in two decades.
Quarterback development became a defining element of that turnaround. Kubiak structured the offense to emphasize Sam Darnold’s strengths while limiting exposure to his weaknesses, particularly early in the season. Through the first half of the campaign, Darnold was considered a legitimate MVP contender before opposing defenses adjusted their coverage schemes, contributing to an increase in turnovers.
Despite the statistical decline in the second half, Seattle maintained consistent results. While the Seahawks’ defense remained a central factor in sustaining wins, the offense continued to generate sufficient production during periods when Darnold struggled with ball security, underscoring the adaptability of Kubiak’s system.
In Atlanta, the potential challenge awaiting Kubiak would differ in personnel but not in scope. The Falcons roster features Bijan Robinson, widely regarded as one of the league’s most physically gifted running backs, along with a stable offensive line and established skill-position contributors. A central task would be maximizing the development of quarterback Michael Penix Jr., formerly of the Washington Huskies, within a structure capable of competing in the NFC.
Should Ryan proceed with the move, the hiring would represent a significant loss for Seattle’s offensive continuity and a strategic investment for Atlanta as it seeks to reposition itself among the conference’s emerging contenders.
