The British Academy of Film and Television Arts (BAFTA) held its annual awards ceremony in London, celebrating achievements in film and television across the globe, with the Ukrainian documentary “2000 Meters to Andriivka” by director Mstyslav Chernov among the nominees, reports customreceipt.com citing Deadline.
The award for Best Film went to “One Battle After Another,” while “Hamnet” received the Best British Film accolade. Jessie Buckley and Paul Mescal starred in the British drama, which drew critical acclaim for its performances. The Best Animated Film award was given to “Zootropolis 2,” recognized as the highest-grossing Hollywood animation of 2025.

- Original Music: “Sinners”
- Best Children’s and Family Film: “Boong”
- Best Casting: “I Swear,” Lauren Evans
- Best Makeup and Hair: “Frankenstein”
- Outstanding Debut by a British Writer, Director or Producer: “Shadow of My Father”
- Best Costume Design: “Frankenstein”
- Best Cinematography: “One Battle After Another”
- Best Editing: “One Battle After Another”
The ceremony was hosted by actor Alan Cumming, who was joined by a special co-host, Paddington Bear, adding a playful note to the prestigious event.
Founded in 1947, BAFTA is one of the most prestigious awards in the film and television industry, often described as the British counterpart to the Oscars. The academy has established its own traditions and style of recognizing cinematic artistry.
