The United States and Israel reportedly carried out an airstrike on Iran’s uranium enrichment facility in Natanz on the morning of March 21, 2026, reports customreceipt.com via CNN. According to the Iranian Atomic Energy Organization, no radioactive material leaks occurred and there is no danger to residents in nearby areas.
The International Atomic Energy Agency (IAEA) confirmed that it received information regarding the strike at Natanz. Director General Rafael Grossi urged “maximum restraint during the conflict to prevent the risk of a nuclear accident,” as stated on the organization’s X account.
It has not been officially confirmed which party conducted the strike. Israeli military officials told CNN that they “do not have information about any IDF strikes on this facility.” As of publication, neither the United States nor Israel had formally commented on the Natanz incident.
Both the US and Israel have repeatedly stated that a key objective of their military operations is to prevent Iran from obtaining nuclear weapons. Since the outbreak of the conflict, several Iranian nuclear sites have been targeted in prior attacks.
On March 19, Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu asserted that Iran has become “weaker than ever” as a result of the war and no longer has the capability to enrich uranium.
