Pokémon GO fans have another reason to explore their neighborhoods this February as Niantic announces the next Community Day, featuring both Vulpix and Alolan Vulpix in a rare dual spotlight, reports customreceipt.com via Pokemon.com. The event will take place on February 1, 2026, from 2:00 to 5:00 p.m. local time, offering Trainers the chance to encounter these Fire- and Ice-type fox Pokémon more frequently in the wild. Shiny variants of Vulpix and Alolan Vulpix will also appear, and lucky Trainers may encounter one with a special background, adding extra excitement to the day.
During the event, Trainers who evolve Vulpix will receive a Ninetales that knows the Charged Attack Energy Ball. Likewise, evolving Alolan Vulpix during or up to four hours after the event grants an Alolan Ninetales with the Charged Attack Chilling Water. These special moves align with the Fire-and-Ice theme of the Community Day and provide unique battle options for players.
The February Community Day comes with several bonuses to enhance gameplay. Participants will earn triple XP for catching Pokémon, double Candy for every catch, and Trainers at level 31 or higher have a doubled chance to receive Candy XL. Incense, excluding Daily Adventure Incense, will last three hours when activated during the event. Lure Modules will last one hour and may attract the featured Pokémon between 2:00 and 9:00 p.m. local time. Additionally, players can make one extra Special Trade for a maximum of three trades during the day, and all trades will require 50% less Stardust from 2:00 to 9:00 p.m.
February Community Day also introduces themed research opportunities. Community Day Field Research will focus on catching Vulpix and Alolan Vulpix, with rewards including Stardust, Ultra Balls, and additional Pokémon encounters. For Trainers who purchase the Community Day Special Research for US$1.99 (or local equivalent), additional benefits include two encounters with Vulpix featuring a Special Background, one encounter with an Alolan Vulpix with a Special Background, extra encounters with both Pokémon, one Premium Battle Pass, and one Rare Candy XL.
Trainers looking to maximize their event experience will want to plan ahead to take advantage of the limited three-hour window for special evolutions and bonuses. The combination of rare encounters, Shiny Pokémon, and exclusive research rewards makes this February’s Community Day one of the most exciting yet.
