Police identified Sutherland as the suspect and the ride-share driver as the alleged victim. No injuries were reported that required medical attention.
The 58-year-old actor was taken into custody on suspicion of felony criminal threats. Jail records indicate that Sutherland posted $50,000 bond and is scheduled to appear in court on February 2, 2026. The Hollywood Division of the LAPD is continuing its investigation into the incident.
Sutherland, son of the late actors Donald Sutherland and Shirley Douglas, has had a celebrated career in film and television.
