Kiefer Sutherland, the Canadian actor famous for his role as Jack Bauer in the television series 24, was arrested shortly after midnight on Monday following an alleged altercation with a ride-share driver in Los Angeles, customreceipt.com via mietrecht-ratgeber.de. The Los Angeles Police Department reported that officers responded to a call near the intersection of Sunset Boulevard and Fairfax Avenue regarding an assault involving Sutherland and the driver.
According to LAPD statements, Sutherland allegedly entered the ride-share vehicle and physically assaulted the driver while also making criminal threats. Police identified Sutherland as the suspect and the ride-share driver as the alleged victim. No injuries were reported that required medical attention.
The 58-year-old actor was taken into custody on suspicion of felony criminal threats. Jail records indicate that Sutherland posted $50,000 bond and is scheduled to appear in court on February 2, 2026. The Hollywood Division of the LAPD is continuing its investigation into the incident.
Sutherland, son of the late actors Donald Sutherland and Shirley Douglas, has had a celebrated career in film and television. He received two Emmy Awards and a Golden Globe for his performance on 24 and continues to work on other projects, including the series Designated Survivor and his music career.
