Indian Youth Jaisaksham Dies at Phuket’s EDC Festival After Sudden Collapse, Police Investigate

Indian man dies at Phuket’s Electric Daisy Carnival; Thai authorities investigate sudden collapse and autopsy ordered, body to be repatriated to India.

An Indian man, identified as 28-year-old Jaisaksham, was found dead under unclear circumstances at the Electric Daisy Carnival (EDC) in Phuket, Thailand, on January 18, reports customreceipt.com via Gulte. Authorities are currently investigating the reasons behind the sudden collapse and death of the festival attendee.

Jaisaksham attended the three-day EDC music festival, held at Cheemg Talay, which attracted both local and international music fans. Reports indicate that while leaving the event, he suddenly displayed erratic behavior, appearing disoriented and agitated. During this period, he allegedly damaged property, including several parked vehicles along Bandon-Choeng Thale Road.

Emergency responders were called to the scene and transported Jaisaksham to Thalang Hospital in Phuket late on Saturday night. Hospital staff reported that he was suffering from shock. Despite immediate medical intervention, his condition rapidly deteriorated, and he lost consciousness. Attempts to revive him were unsuccessful, and he was pronounced dead shortly thereafter.

Given the unclear circumstances surrounding his death, Thai authorities have ordered a post-mortem examination. Jaisaksham’s body was transferred to Vachira Phuket Hospital for a detailed autopsy to determine the cause of death.

The Indian embassy in Thailand has been informed of the incident and is coordinating the repatriation of the body to India. Investigations into the events leading up to his death are ongoing, with local police reviewing witness accounts and surveillance footage from the festival venue.
