The draw for the UEFA Champions League Round of 16 will take place on Friday, February 27, starting at 13:00 Kyiv time (06:00 Eastern Time, 05:00 Central Time, 04:00 Mountain Time, 03:00 Pacific Time). The live broadcast will be available on the official UEFA website, while a text-based online commentary can be followed in this news piece on customreceipt.com. The draw will feature the eight group stage winners, who are seeded, alongside the winners of the qualifying play-off matches, who are unseeded, determining the matchups for the knockout phase.
Teams have been allocated into four seeded pairs based on their group stage rankings, ensuring that each seeded team faces one of the play-off victors. For instance, Real Madrid may meet Sporting CP or Manchester City depending on the results of the preliminary draw. This stage of the tournament marks the first knockout round, and the outcomes will shape each club’s potential path to the final.

The top eight clubs from the group stage include Arsenal, Bayern Munich, Liverpool, Tottenham Hotspur, Barcelona, Chelsea, Sporting CP, and Manchester City. Play-off winners advancing to the Round of 16 are Real Madrid, Paris Saint-Germain, Newcastle United, Atlético Madrid, Atalanta, Bayer Leverkusen, Galatasaray, and Bodø/Glimt.
Following the draw, the complete tournament bracket will define the possible matchups en route to the final. Teams from the same national association can meet at this early stage. The first legs of the Round of 16 are scheduled for March 10–11, with return matches on March 17–18.
