Chipotle margaritas are returning after years off the menu, but this is not a nationwide comeback. The chain is reviving its original recipe during a five-city Halloween tour in October 2026, as customreceipt.com reports, citing Chipotle’s official announcement.
Where Chipotle Margaritas Will Return
The promotion is called the Summon the Spirits Tour. Each participating restaurant will serve margaritas on Friday and Saturday only.
The tour includes:
- Denver on October 2 and 3
- Brooklyn, New York, on October 9 and 10
- Dallas on October 16 and 17
- Los Angeles on October 23 and 24
- New Orleans on October 30 and 31
Guests must be 21 or older. Each margarita costs $6, while the Dallas stop will also offer a frozen version.
The locations will feature dedicated margarita bars, Halloween decorations and chances to win Chipotle prizes. The limited format means most customers will still need to travel to try the returning drink.

What Is in the Chipotle Margarita?
Chipotle is bringing back a simple recipe built around five ingredients.
| Ingredient | What it adds |
|---|---|
| Tequila | The alcoholic base |
| Triple sec | Orange flavor |
| Citrus juice | Acidity and freshness |
| Agave nectar | Sweetness |
| Lime wedge | Fresh garnish |
The company says the drink contains no artificial flavors or premade mixes. That stripped-down recipe helped make the original margarita distinctive before it disappeared from the menu.
Why Chipotle Is Bringing Margaritas Back
Chipotle says fans continued asking for the drink after it was discontinued. Social media posts, old photos and comments kept the margarita visible long after its removal.
“Fans never stopped talking about our margaritas after they left the menu,” said Stephanie Perdue, Chipotle’s senior vice president of brand marketing.
For now, the return remains a pop-up promotion rather than a permanent menu change. Chipotle has not announced plans for a nationwide margarita rollout.
