Samsung has officially unveiled the Galaxy S26 Ultra, its latest flagship smartphone, featuring a “Private Display” mode that limits viewing angles to protect sensitive information, reports customreceipt.com. The announcement follows a series of leaks and renders that had already piqued interest in the new model. Rather than introducing radical changes, Samsung focused on selective upgrades, improving the display, camera system, and charging performance. The device also runs One UI 8.5 with expanded artificial intelligence capabilities, enhancing the user experience and app interactions.
The Galaxy S26 Ultra preserves the recognizable design of the S series while becoming slightly thinner at 7.9 mm compared to the S25 Ultra’s 8.2 mm. Rounded edges improve ergonomics, though visually it aligns closely with previous models. The device now weighs 214 grams, making it lighter in daily use. Samsung replaced the titanium frame with reinforced aerospace-grade aluminum, maintaining durability alongside IP68 water and dust resistance. The front and back panels are protected by Gorilla Armor 2 and Gorilla Glass Victus 2, respectively, ensuring robust screen protection.

The 6.9-inch Dynamic AMOLED 2X display boasts a resolution of 3120×1440 pixels and a refresh rate ranging from 1 to 120 Hz. Peak brightness reaches 2600 nits, enabling clear visibility in bright sunlight. The “Private Display” feature allows users to selectively deactivate pixels, rendering content invisible to onlookers at certain angles. This privacy mode can be applied to specific applications, such as banking apps, ensuring secure usage. Support for the S Pen continues, though the stylus has been slightly redesigned to match the updated body.
Performance is driven by the Snapdragon 8 Elite Gen 5 for Galaxy, paired with 12 or 16 GB of RAM and storage options up to 1 TB. An enhanced cooling system improves heat dissipation by over 20%, ensuring sustained performance. Connectivity options include 5G, Wi-Fi 7, Bluetooth 6.0, NFC, and UWB. The device runs Android 16 with One UI 8.5, which integrates artificial intelligence more deeply. Bixby now has improved natural language understanding, and the new Photo Assist feature allows image editing based on text commands.
The camera system emphasizes low-light performance. The main 200 MP sensor features an f/1.4 aperture, enhancing light capture in dim conditions. The periscope telephoto lens has been upgraded from f/3.4 to f/2.9, supporting 5× optical zoom, complemented by an additional 3× telephoto module. A 50 MP ultra-wide camera with a 120-degree field of view completes the rear setup, while the 12 MP front camera now uses an updated signal processor for improved image processing.
Battery capacity remains at 5000 mAh, but wired charging supports up to 60 W, achieving roughly 75% charge in 30 minutes. Wireless charging follows the Qi2.2 standard with up to 25 W output. In the United States, the Galaxy S26 Ultra is priced at approximately $1,770 for the 12/256 GB model, $1,910 for the 12/512 GB model, and $2,180 for the top-tier 16 GB/1 TB variant. Pre-orders are expected to begin in the coming days through official retailers and online stores.
