The iconic sci-fi series Stargate SG-1 is returning to Netflix in the United States and selected international territories after a three-year absence, customreceipt.com.
All ten seasons of the show, totaling over 200 episodes, will be available to stream starting February 15, 2026. Regions confirmed to receive the series include the United Kingdom and Latin America, while Canada will not be part of the initial rollout. The show originally left Netflix in December 2022, following the expiration of the previous licensing deal, after a two-year run that began in late 2020.
Stargate SG-1 continues the story established by the 1994 Roland Emmerich film. The series follows Colonel Jack O’Neill (Richard Dean Anderson) and his team, which includes Dr. Daniel Jackson (Michael Shanks), Major Samantha Carter (Amanda Tapping), and the Jaffa warrior Teal’c (Christopher Judge), as they explore distant worlds through an ancient alien portal.
The new Netflix deal currently covers only Stargate SG-1. Spin-off series, including Stargate Atlantis and Stargate Universe, remain exclusive to Amazon Prime Video, with some availability on Pluto TV in select regions. However, a strong performance by SG-1 on Netflix could potentially lead to the addition of Atlantis later in 2026.
This release is part of a broader slate of MGM content returning to Netflix in the U.S. and abroad. Recent additions include Hunters starring Al Pacino, Fargo in select international regions, and anticipated titles such as The Man in the High Castle. Other movies joining the platform include the James Bond collection, Legally Blonde, and Paul Thomas Anderson’s Licorice Pizza, scheduled for January 2026 in the U.S.
Previously, there had been speculation about a new Netflix-led Stargate reboot, but Amazon’s acquisition of MGM redirected the project to Prime Video. A reboot is now underway at Prime Video, with Martin Gero confirmed as the showrunner.
