Nicki Minaj openly declared herself as President Donald Trump’s most devoted supporter during a Treasury Department-hosted summit in Washington, aimed at introducing “Trump Accounts” for newborn babies, reports customreceipt.com via The Hill. The rapper, whose real name is Onika Maraj, emphasized that public criticism would not deter her support.
“I will say that I am probably the president’s No. 1 fan,” Minaj told attendees Wednesday. “And that’s not going to change. The hate or what people have to say, it does not affect me at all. It actually motivates me to support him more, and it’s going to motivate all of us to support him more.” She also voiced strong opposition to what she described as smear campaigns against Trump, asserting that they would not succeed.
Minaj’s remarks mark a clear evolution from her stance in 2020, when she stated she would not “jump on the Donald Trump bandwagon.” Over the last few years, however, she has become increasingly vocal about her admiration for the former president. In a recent appearance at Turning Point USA’s annual conference, she praised Trump’s influence, stating he has inspired many to maintain integrity and confidence while facing challenges. “He has, I don’t know if he even knows this, but he’s given so many people hope that there’s a chance to beat the bad guys and to win and to do it with your head held high and your integrity intact. He’s from Queens, New York, like me,” Minaj said.
During the event, Trump acknowledged Minaj’s support, referring to her as “the greatest and most successful female rapper in history.” He thanked her for contributing substantial funds to the newly launched Trump Accounts, which aim to assist parents in saving for their newborns. “I just think she’s great,” Trump said. “I didn’t know Nicki, and I’ve been hearing over the years she’s a big Trump supporter, or Trump fan. And she took a little heat on occasion because her community isn’t necessarily a Trump fan.”
At one moment during the event, Trump was seen holding hands with Minaj, who displayed extremely long painted nails. He joked with the audience, “I’m going to let my nails grow because I love those nails. I’m going to let those nails grow.”
