Carlos Alcaraz Wins 2026 Australian Open, Beats Novak Djokovic to Complete Career Grand Slam at 22

Carlos Alcaraz wins Australian Open to complete career Grand Slam at 22, defeating Novak Djokovic in a historic final at Melbourne Park.

Carlos Alcaraz has become the youngest man in tennis history to complete a career Grand Slam after winning the Australian Open final against Novak Djokovic, who had remained undefeated in his ten previous finals at Melbourne Park, reports customreceipt.com via ESPN. The match saw Alcaraz, ranked world number one, drop the opening set 2-6 before rallying to win 2-6, 6-2, 6-3, 7-5. As he left the court, Alcaraz signed the television camera lens with the message: “Job finished. 4/4 Complete,” acknowledging his Grand Slam achievement.

During the match, the 22-year-old Spaniard demonstrated remarkable resilience, retrieving shots that often would have been winners for Djokovic and maintaining relentless pressure on the 38-year-old Serbian. The contest featured numerous long rallies, with both players executing sequences of shots that could have decided multiple games, neither yielding an inch to the other.

After the final point, Alcaraz let his racket fall and collapsed on the court, placing his hands on his head in a moment of relief and exhaustion. He then approached the net to shake hands with Djokovic, who congratulated him with a smile. Alcaraz subsequently embraced his coaching team on the sidelines, as well as his father and additional team members in the stands.

Alcaraz paid tribute to Djokovic as a source of inspiration before turning to his own team. Following the departure of longtime coach Juan Carlos Ferrero at the end of last season, Samuel Lopez assumed the role of head coach, guiding Alcaraz to his latest triumph. “Nobody knows how hard I’ve been working to get this trophy. I just chased this moment so much,” Alcaraz stated, reflecting on the emotional highs and lows of preseason preparations.
