Malaysia’s Prime Minister Anwar Ibrahim publicly rejects links to Jeffrey Epstein and associates referenced in US Department of Justice emails, clarifying he never had contact.

Malaysian Prime Minister Anwar Ibrahim has categorically rejected any association with Jeffrey Epstein or individuals linked to him,customreceipt.com via malaysiakini. The statement from Anwar followed the release by the U.S. Department of Justice of previously undisclosed records connected to Epstein, which included emails suggesting arrangements might be made for Anwar to meet with a person believed to be Jes Staley, the former CEO of JPMorgan Chase.

According to newly published court materials, emails between Epstein and unidentified associates referenced Anwar’s name in connection with plans to facilitate a meeting with the individual thought to be Staley. These references were disclosed among a tranche of files released by U.S. prosecutors that relate to the late financier and his network of contacts.

Responding to the revelations on his social media accounts, Anwar stated that he was unaware of any efforts by outsiders to arrange a meeting on his behalf and that he had no personal knowledge of or engagement with Epstein or those connected to him. “Until today, I only learned that someone external wanted to meet me, and that my name was even mentioned in emails related to the Epstein case,” Anwar said in his post.

The Malaysian leader’s rebuke was concise and direct, emphasizing that he has never interacted with Epstein or his associates and dismissing any suggestion of involvement as unfounded. The U.S. Department of Justice’s release of these records has drawn global attention to Epstein’s extensive network of contacts, but has so far produced no evidence of any actual engagement between Anwar and those figures.
