Arkansas announces statewide Turning Point USA Club America high school initiative with Erica Kirk

Arkansas Governor Sanders to announce statewide Turning Point USA partnership with Erika Kirk, expanding Club America chapters across high schools in the state.

Arkansas Governor Sarah Huckabee Sanders is set to announce a new statewide collaboration with the conservative advocacy organization Turning Point USA, reporting on the initiative alongside the organization’s CEO, Erika Kirk. Kirk, who is the widow of activist Charlie Kirk, previously led the organization until his assassination at a public debate at Utah Valley University on September 10, 2025, according to reports. The announcement will take place at the Arkansas Governor’s Mansion on Wednesday, highlighting a “statewide Club America partnership,” Turning Point USA’s high school chapter-based program, as described in the organization’s news release, reports customreceipt.com via Arkansas.

Turning Point USA’s statement indicates that this partnership represents a “next step forward” in the group’s objective to establish chapters at every high school and college across the United States. While the governor’s office has not clarified whether chapters will be implemented in all Arkansas public high schools or the precise role of state authorities in the collaboration, the group maintains its mission to “build the most organized, active, and powerful conservative grassroots activist network on high school and college campuses nationwide.”

Founded by Charlie Kirk, Turning Point USA initially concentrated on colleges and universities. In July 2025, less than two months before Kirk’s assassination, the organization launched Club America—a high school-focused chapter program aimed at engaging students in promoting principles such as freedom, free markets, and limited government. The initiative is described as mobilizing students “ready to lead, speak up, and stand for the tried-and-true American values that have made the country the envy of the world for generations.”

Arkansas is not the first state to partner with Turning Point USA on school programs. In December 2025, Texas Governor Greg Abbott introduced an initiative to establish Club America chapters in every Texas high school. According to a Texas Tribune report, Abbott instructed that any school resisting the program should be reported to the Texas Education Agency, which would open investigations and take disciplinary action if necessary.

The assassination of Charlie Kirk triggered intense national debates over free speech, political violence, and cultural polarization in the U.S. Following his death, several individuals faced investigations and disciplinary measures for online comments regarding Kirk, including incidents in Arkansas. Felicia Branch, a professor at the University of Arkansas at Little Rock’s Bowen School of Law, was suspended without pay in September for Facebook posts that UALR Chancellor Christina Drale described as celebrating Kirk’s death and condoning political violence based on ideology; Branch was officially terminated in October. Joy Gray, a branch chief at the Arkansas Health Department’s Tobacco Prevention and Cessation program, was also dismissed in September for Facebook remarks labeling Kirk as “shot doing his evil in public.”
